Day 2 - Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain - St Claire National park is in north-west Tasmania. It is a picturesque park with many walks varying in duration, and difficulty. We left early in the morning, and did the 7 hr return hike around Crater Peak and Marion's lookout. It was unbelievably beautiful, and unbelievably cold. At one stage, possibly due to the lack of oxygen (height 1240m), Derek started getting funny speech, and was hallucinating. "It be get windy".... and referred to the national park as "St ECLAIRE"
After a short break for lunch, we then did the 2 hour walk around Dove Lake, also very beautiful. The clouds lifted momentarily to reveal Cradle Mountain in the background.
