Derek and Sally's blog

Jake has become quite the musician and played a number of tunes for us. However he needs to stop taking requests from his Aunty Sally as all he will end up playing is "oh when the Saints go marching in" !

He also cooked a delicious lemon meringue pie! I had to have 2 slices just to make sure it was ok for everyone to eat! : )

Eoin was full of smiles, he is getting very big now and starting to put on some weight. He has also learnt how to do a "High 5".

Brenda meets the Lacey Gang

As James said at the table, "Brenda is getting to see the Laceys in their natural habitat". Everyone had a great time and Mum really enjoyed her present from Ireland (her first exercise book from nursing). It was also discovered that nothing was wasted back then, as Granny also used the blank pages of the same exercise book for writing notes about the building of the house in Rathnamaugh.

Unfortunately Stephen, Karen and Co were missing as Aidan was in hospital. He is all better now.

James and Brenda come to visit!

On Monday morning James and Brenda flew in from Ireland via Thailand to see us. We took them for a quick walk down to Federation Square and a coffee by the Yarra river, before we went up to the farm. Brendan is on holidays at he moment (he finished exams last week) so he joined us.

Walk down to docklands

Last weekend we walked down to Docklands to see the fire and light festival "Ignite". They had a "fire organ" with metallic pipes which they held blowtorches up, and it made some beautiful sounds (sorry, the video was too big, can't upload it). However, the 15-minute set was pretty much it for the whole festival, so it was a little disappointing, but the walk down there was refreshing.
