Weekend away

We went away for a few days recently, for lightning visits to Wollongong and Canberra. It was a lot of fun, and we managed to catch up with Honoria for one of the days, and visited a couple of Sally's friends.

Honoria on the beautiful Wollongong beach (when it eventually stopped raining).

Hot cross buns!!!

Sally has developed a taste for baking. Here's a picture of her first batch of hot cross buns. I don't believe it's QUITE perfect yet, and so she must try again and again and again and again.

Yummy......

Marg's 70th

We celebrated Marg's 70th birthday this weekend at her friend's place. It was a great afternoon with lots of food and laughter. One of her friends re-wrote the lyrics to "My favourite things" from The Sound of Music and the gathering serenaded Marg with it. To give you an idea:

" Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
walkers and handrails and new dental fitings
bundles of bric a brac tied up with string,
these are a few of Marg's favourite things"

"When the joints ache, when the hips break
when the eyes grow dim
then she remembers the great life she's had
and then she don't feel so bad."

Emma has really stretched in the last couple of weeks. Eoin is as inquisitive as ever, and really enjoyed running after and playing with the doggies at the party.
